Where I'm From Poem
I am from difficult background
From family troubles to mental issues
I am from struggle
of going back and forth
from home to home
I am from two households
From split-up parents
Which were never once married
I am from argumentative parents
Which once got along
I am from the mud on my feet
To stomping to the beat
of the music
At numerous festivals
I am from the words I write on a page
To the lover I once had
Who broke my heart
the letters I wrote
to those who broke me
tore away my trust
and gave away my hope
I am from numerous dance lessons
Which allowed me
To express myself
With actions
Instead of words
As I was always afraid
To use my voice
I am from struggle
But that will never stop me
I am from the fight
The fight to make it through
