Slow down, slow down!
All the people in the halls say
But I don’t want to
I don’t need to
So why o why should I?
To be normal?
Touché.
But I can’t help it
I need to go,
Through the hallways
To and fro.
I simply cannot resist
Moving, going,
Heading through the halls
Racing, pacing,
And heading to where I need to be.

Slow down, slow down!
But I just can’t do that!
All the shambling
All the walking
I can’t handle it, I can’t!
I can’t handle the slow lines
Moving like molasses through the hallway
Reaching your stop after all the time is gone
But then I get the break
I take it
I own it
I move, I go
No stopping
No slowing
I can’t do a walk
I don’t
I speed on through
To the dismay of others.

Slow down, slow down!
I probably should
But I won’t.
Not now
Not ever
Nowhere
Or wherever
But you’ll mess up!
No I shall not!
I speed but I plan
I go but won’t fail
This pace won’t break me
I know all the right blocks... I mean words
But you’ll forget, you’ll lose your thought!
No I will not!
I’ve got my thoughts trapped
None shall get away
Never shall memory fail me
No works shall be… forgot!
But why, but why,
Why must you move
So swiftly, so reckless
What have you to prove?
I have nothing to prove
To any of you
I simply move
As fast I go
To go
To make it
To get somewhere
It’s the best I way I can explain
Why I
Don’t
Can’t
And
Won’t
Slow down, slow down.
