A Look From Above
Destruction was smeared across the city
A look from above revealed that a feeling of distress had gripped those that still lived
Glass scattered itself across the ground
The sky was absent of light
The people attempted to use a smokescreen of courage
It was unsuccessful
A war had taken place
It seemed as if someone had pressed pause
The city had come to a standstill
The only movement came from a breeze flowing across the buildings
They stared at the broken down structures as if it would help rebuild them
Objects and belongings were no longer hidden inside houses
They were put on display across every street and alley
They picked through the rubble for days on end
Bottles and boxes were found hidden in piles of trash
But hope was nowhere to be seen
