Part 1

Scott: So son - how’s gym been going? (WILLY gobbling his cereal)

Willy: Why do you ask?

Scott: Because I know you don’t like gym so I’m just checking in.

Jazz: oh he doesn’t?

Willy: No, it’s not that I don’t like gym – I just don’t want to do jump roping (SCOTT goes to the door and stares at WILLY)

Scott: See you later honey - going to work. Willy, enjoy gym – it’s something special that not every kid gets.

Jazz: Bye Hun- Do good at work (winks)

Willy: Bye. (SCOTT exits)

Jazz: Alright bud, let’s get you kiddo to school

Willy: Huh – Alright fine.

Jazz: Oh come on – Gym is fun! Enjoy it.

Willy: Oh please – maybe.
 

Part 2

Mr. Colon: Willy – let’s see what you got – jumping rope and all. 3-2-1 – GO! (WILLY starts panting)

(after 1 minute MR.COLON stops the timer)

Mr. Colon: Time!

Willy: how’d I do?

Mr. Colon: 150 in 1 minute – new record for the whole school!

(CLASS clapping and cheering for WILLY)

Willy: really? (mutters under breath – how’d I do that.)

Mr. Colon: here is your prize – a nice certificate. Congratulations Willy!

Willy: Thanks Sir! (WILLY goes through rest of the day and comes home to see SCOTT and JAZZ staring and smiling)

Scott and Jazz: good job bud, knew you could do it – see, you had fun!

Willy: I guess I did – huh? Thanks mom and dad!

(curtain closes and ends)
