Innocence
When we were young, we would put the world on a pedestal
Not yet knowing the struggles we would endure through years to come
Oh, how simple the world once seemed
We would swim in the summer, with all our friends,
And make snow angels in the winter time, with nothing on our minds, expect pure joy,
Oh, how simple the world once seemed
We would play games from dawn to dusk, without a single care of anything else
We would make friends with just about anyone, and dream of nothing else, but to become older
Oh, how simple the world once seemed
But, when we began to grow older, we wanted nothing more but to go right back,
Shrivel up into that child self, stay their comfortably forever, and live the carefree life of a child,
Oh, how simple we wish the world could be.
