Welcome to the systematic education
Of a new generation
Dull square rooms
Dreary inside and out
Everyone is being told what to think about
Each cinderblock in the foundation
Is another broken imagination
Billions of blocks built up
Creating the ultimate facility
To increase societal productivity
A factory slowly eroding all inspiration
Via unnecessary memorization
Bright hopeful children enter
A sentence of thirteen years
Only the compliant may leave
This is where the mind’s defiance
Is beaten into compliance
More bloodied by every lesson
Each day there is a new way
To put hopeful minds back into submission
Congratulations it’s graduation
The child is gone
Replaced by another
Of society’s pawns

This was inspired by my frustrations with thte public school system, specifically how history classes skew information so that America always seems like a riteous hero when getting involved in world affairs.
