Daddy's Shoes

I liked to try on daddy's shoes
But they never fit just right
It must've been their massive size
With laces not tied tight
And when I tried on daddy's shoes
I could barely stand
Like the way that daddy stumbled
With a bottle in his hand
I liked to step where daddy stepped
But he walked so fast and far
Walked down the stairs and out the door
Into his fancy car
And when I stepped where daddy stepped
I always seemed to fade away
Like how daddy went into his room
Always work and never play
I used to want to be like daddy was
But it never felt like me
And then I realized that my daddy
Wasn't who I longed to be
