Big Stage
I stepped up to the plate.
My cleats dug into the fresh clay.
The stadium filled with deafining silence.
Tense, i went into my stance.
The pittcher looked me up and down.
As he waited for the signal.
I saw a slight nod.
And knew this was my chance.
Strike one.
I couldn't blow this.
I began to sweat.
This is how I would start my career.
Strike two.
My last shot.
This was it.
I squinted, loosened my stance.
I thought, just like practice.
A swing and a miss.
I thought to myself.
Welcome to the big stage.
