Where I'm From poem
I am from marinara red sauce, from Barilla and Marzano tomatoes. I am from the television of Sunday Football, loud cheers, it sounded like a stadium. I am from the olive tree branch, the arugula plant that makes green leafy salads. I’m from the large dining table and craziness from Cathy and Frank and Nany. I’m from the arguing with my little brother and happy fun family.
I am from respect and always try your best. I’m from the church that believes in God.
I’m from Melville, New York and Palermo, Sicily, sopressate and fresh mozzarella, from the nose that my father broke from a hockey puck and the stairs that my Poppi fell down and broke his leg.
I am from the wall unit that sits on many shelves. I am from the boot-shaped peninsula off the Mediterranean Sea.
