I am from baseballs, from the open field and the dirt.
I am from the house on the dead end, loud and alive it felt.
I am from the grass, green and full of life.
I am from the holidays being spent with family and music, from Steven and Sam and Allison
I'm from the Church every Sunday morning and family dinners that evening.

I am from "never give up" and "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
I'm from God, the man who put me here today and is endlessly blessing me.

I'm from New York and the Italians, the pizza and the pasta,
From the parents who's fathers were proudly serving the United States military, who strived through the Great Depression and the second World War.

I am from the baseball field, the den filled with toys, the bunkbeds with my brother.
I am from a family of six, from Commack, New York, where I bring happiness and excitement to my family.

This piece was inspired by my childhood as well as what shaped me into who I am today.
