I used to visit a lot.
December 11, 2017
now, not so much.
every time it gets worse.
the person she once was
is slowly
disappearing
leaving a shell of emptiness.
even when I do go,
it’s not like she'll remember.
but I will.
and that's the worst part.
if she could see herself,
it would be horrifying.
she never wanted this.
she’d say “If I get funny, shoot me”
I’d laugh it off, relieved she was only half serious.
but now, I get it.
I hurt for her.
I think she’d understand why I don’t visit much.
