Sitting in traffic
The green subaru
In front of you
Going just too slow
You ask yourself
        “Where am I going?”
To work
Sitting at your desk
Staring at the white light
Of your computer screen
Click after click
You watch the clock
Waiting for the hand to strike five
You ask yourself
        “What am I waiting for?”
You are waiting to go home
To your kids and lover
For a nice family dinner
Before the light of the TV
A few words between you
About your fine day
You ask yourself
        “What am I doing?”
You hate that green subaru
You hate your job,
Your wife,
Hell, your kids too!
You ask yourself
“What happened to my childish dreams of life?”
Marrying the one you love
Chasing the truth across the world
You wanted to learn how to write
To make something
But all you do is drive in traffic
Always clicking at the white light of your computer screen
Always making awkward small talk with
your wretched children refusing a hot meal
Then you ask the world
“Where was the life I was promised in my childish dreams?”

Seeing how mundane my life and the lives of those around me is inspired me to write this poem. It is sad to see so many people waste their lives being bored out of their minds.
