Dear Christmas Shoppers
To all the Christmas shoppers
Who search and scour for gifts
Of candy and toys and treats,
Recall the night I wandered
Searching for an Inn
That would welcome me and my husband
For the baby Jesus to be born in.
As you walk down the aisles
Covered with candy canes and expensive toys,
Remember how I gave birth to a young infant
Who would come to save you from the destruction of sin.
While you hunt for trinkets and gadgets
That you believe make Christmas special,
Think of the holiday itself,
For my son Jesus Christ inherently created it.
Ponder about the true meaning
Of this special time
When God himself became man
And taught us about love and faith.
Forget about the presents and gifts,
And remember that Jesus Christ
Is who makes Christmas truly important.
