Lost In The Chaos
We love others with such power and grace
We fall in love ever so desperately and passionately
But while we are infatuated with others flaws
We grow a deeper hatred for our own
We force our insecure minds to think that we are unlovable
That our flaws are incapable of being accepted
That we are so much less than the people around us
The people that we pour every ounce of our bleeding soul into
Maybe our thoughts were poisoned with societies words
Or maybe we have never had anyone tell us anything different
I am here to say that you are worth no less than the entire universe
You are a human sculpture of your hopes and dreams
You are not defined by your mistakes
Your heart and soul are as beautiful as the first winter snowfall
Your life has meaning
Even when the meaning seems to get lost in the chaos
Live your life for yourself rather than for others
I know that you crave the kind words of someone else to make you feel whole
I understand that you desperately want to be loved
But I want you to know that in order to be whole
You must receive love from no one other than yourself

This is a poem that I wrote to my insecure freshman self. It is deciated to any man or woman that has ever tried to find their self worth in anothers soul rather than your own.
