The Creek
Behind a few miles,
I can see something small,
but so unique.
A river bed full of beautiful rocks
letting the cold, crisp water wash over them.
Daring to poke at its purity,
I touched the rocks
the water, clouded, was different
I wished that it would go back
and it did, to the clean water I had seen
I also wondered why this would be
This wonderful thing,
corrupted by me?
But all is well and life is free,
because that small little thing
meant so much to me.

This piece was inspired by my time spent hiking and camping with my family. The places we go often have small creeks or ponds and I would love to play with the water. The concept of the water going back to the way it was after I poked at it intriguied me. I related it to society and how something bad happens and we tend to wash over it and go back to normal. Society tends to ignore its problems.
