Memories
Old and dingy, flooded with stains
the beloved sweatshirt lives.
Day in and out,
worn over and over again.
But as time goes on
the shirt collects holes and rips.
After many wash cycles it shrinks,
as you grow, your feelings grow.
After years of play and memories,
it is impossible to throw away.
Embracing the time you have left
because you know you have a limit of days.
The sweatshirt is worn more and more
as time passes, afraid of the inevitable
fate to come.
One night you come home
forgetting your sweatshirt on the bus.
Looking back, from the start
all the way to the end,
you ponder on all of the memories.
