House That Became a Home
You’re my joy
You’re my sorrow
You’re my forever and tomorrow
You’re my shattered heart
You’re my cloud nine
You’re my distraction,
My inspiration
You’re my downfall
You’re my clarity
You’re my days of gleaming smiles
You’re my nights of painful frowns
You’re my day dream
You’re my distress
You’re the house that became a home.
My home is a pair of sparkly snake eyes
Stopping even Hades in his steps
Static and midnight sniffles
Stiff locks resembling the sunshine on a
Cold winters day
A gun metal sweatshirt marinated in cigarettes and cologne
Run down beaten vans
Your friend stole from a department store
In order to get home I follow
Mysterious trails leading up the rockiest mountain
Through the deepest swamp
The longest valley
And the darkest forest
Yet I’ve never ran
I’ve never stuttered
I’ve never given up for a rest
I’ve never seen more beauty in rocks, trees, seaweed, and moss
Life has never been more difficult
Life has never been such fun
Life has never been so good to me,
While screaming in my face
I’ve never been so familiar with myself
I’ve never been so broken and alone
But now I know,
It’s just because I need to go,
Home.
