Reflections Of 18
Every year we gain or lose a little bit more. With every birthday, a new year of life, we change for better or worse. Lessons lead us to be wiser and more careful with our actions. Or sometimes we get our hearts broken and all left feeling weary and lonely but we turn to those around us who are true. We learn what our strengths and weaknesses may be and how we can use them to our advantage or seek to become more skilled at something. We may lose knowledge and memories as we age and become a shell of our youthful selves. Sometimes our innocence gets lost and we become more jaded and aware of the cruel world around us. But, we as humans persevere and strike back to do what is just and what feels right in our situation. We understand that with every number added on we must look at our life timeline to accomplish the goals we have set, and to question whether it is realistic at this point or not. Everything can change within the span of a year, if it’s for the best or worst that’s unknown left up for the universe to determine. We leave our marks on this planet, our carbon footprint, our relationships, our own life decisions that have impacted the world that surrounds us physically and mentally. Now it may seem foolish when we look towards the next weekend or month because in a way that shows that we are rushing our own lives away. However, we do this to remain on the track we were meant to be on, we do this to survive the next day, week, month, year; something to look forward to keeps us moving in the right direction. Every life matters and can create an immense effect on this world. We must treat life with compassion and love and show that we care and that we are there to guide one another on their own journey of life. For some of us, we waive our actions on the idea of everlasting life foretold in our religions. While others may feel like they want to do the right thing for nobody but themselves because it will help them live a more full, joyful life. In whatever way you choose to live your life let every year be a memorable one, a year filled with love, happiness, and wisdom. Live the way you want, the way you have always dreamed of.
