The Things of the Past
I wake up from my afternoon nap
My back hurts as I reach for my cane
I look at the mirror and see
A wrinkled man with grey hair
At the window I see my neighbors
they stare blankly at their computer and tablets
They were statues trapped in their homes
In a flash of light I remembered
I saw children run down the block
I saw visitors come and go
I saw campers and adventure
The light faded and I look back
The world has changed so much
