Teenagers
Why must we love the pain?
The sickly sweet scars that wound our flesh
Yet leave us wanting more.
Why must we seek out heartbreak?
We are far too young to torture ourselves
The way we do.
Why must we love the chase?
And not the reward.
Why must we crave the darkness?
Seek out death
Just to laugh in it's face.
Taunt it
Tease it
Seduce it to come to us
Just a little closer
Feel its icy breath on our steaming lips
So we can say
You'll never catch me!
Keep up!
Little do we know
We are dancing into
Death's open arms.
