There's plenty of sense in nonsense sometimes, if you wish to look for it.

Have you ever questioned the way you behaved?
Maybe even thought that it was odd in any sort of way?
Because I am here to tell you that you have been enslaved,
By the illusion that is social protocol to which you have fallen prey,
But never worry, I can give you the satisfaction you always craved,
By breaking down the simplest things in your life, if I may.

So what is acceptable in society?
It would be quite weird if we were to scream at the top of our lungs, right?
But it always gave me anxiety,
And I just considered the fact that it’s possible that it only gives me a fright.
These days it’s all about propriety,
Almost like people may have lost sight,
Of the reasons to why a “code” was established as if it’s to prevent variety.

And what about manners, have we discussed them yet?
Hold your fork in your left and your knife in your right, and say the magic word, you can't ever forget.
The more you reflect on the things you do out of habit the more you will feel like you’re stuck in a net.
And please, let me tell you that these things add up and consume you in an infinite tunnel of fret.
But even more importantly, have your parents ever established a very clear threat,
Keep your room clean, they said, might as well break a sweat.
Although, let’s think for a moment and someone please tell me, what is clean anyways and who made it up because we definitely have never met.

What do you do when you are mad, how do you react?
You probably stomp your feet and compress it all down.
But how do you want to respond, after your dignity underwent an attack?
Don’t you want to let out an ear piercing scream and surrounded by rage completely drown?
What happens when you are sad?
Don’t you want a little more than a few shedded tears and a frown?
Wouldn’t it be easier to completely break down?
But why don’t we act out in a sincere way?

See that last sentence did not quite make sense,
The lack of a rhyme made it sound quite intense,
For a second there you may have thought that I turned dense,
But rhyming this poem was just another law I chose to follow
It's hard to understand those rules, to see them through a wall we call social protocol,
Although once you notice these few tiny things, you can never go back,
You will probably experience a panic attack.

By this point, you are most likely clueless,
I can see that in your faces, which are almost hueless
But can't you admit to the fact that although this poem may seem useless,
It can not be confused with one that is viewless.

Always thought about this, just didn't know how to put it in words. Turned out that I had a lot to say about this. Hope some of you relate :)
