Awake, Finally

Awaken at last from my eventful slumber, 

Only to find I can no longer collect my thoughts

correctly or in any order whatsoever

They more simply, to my dismay, 

are random details from a larger story lost to the night

I have only a few pieces of a complex puzzle, trying to solve it

Impossible work

If I'm lucky, a word or phrase will awaken something in the depths of my subconscious and bring it foward, adding a few more pieces to work with

For most, Dreams are impossible to remember even the slightest details of

For others, the hard part lies in the inability to forget the story it told.
