Why do we have these rules?

Society tells us,
“Be yourself”
“Be whatever you want to be”
But if a boy puts on a dress…
He’s gay.
If a girl wants to feel beautiful
And wears sexy clothing…
“She’s asking for it”.

Why?

These expectations?
