Why?
I ask this everyday.
Does this shut down really have to stay?
Are you really so hateful that you’re gonna make me leave
and go back to a country where I have nothing?

Is it so bad to dream?
To try to live a new life?
To create a world in which I don’t have to fight?
Fight with everything I’ve got just to get by?
Apparently, that’s too much for even a dreamer to ask.
But I still have to try.

If I stop trying I get kicked out,
I get left on the streets.
Until they come and try to deport me
and force me to leave.

But I cannot give up;
I still have to try.
All the dreamers will rally
and push for a better life.
