The inescapable void, possibilities endless--
All knowing, all seeing, yet impossibly dark--
Length immeasurable, but also entirely too small--
Space the final frontier--

As he looks out his window
At the starry night sky,
He wishes for a home away from home,
Away from the troubles of Earth.

Staring at the world through a telescope,
Wondering what life would be like
If he was not on Mars but instead
On the small green and blue planet 3rd from the sun--

Their lives impossibly different
And also all too familiar--
Wish to change places among the stars
And escape their life as they know it--

The lives of those lacking congruency
Taking on the form of shapes widely known--

The inescapable void, possibilities endless,
All knowing, all seeing, yet impossibly dark--
Length immeasurable, but also entirely too small--
