Reflection in the Ocean
These waves are the only things
that can touch the horizon.
Over strewn sandbanks,
starlings, the papery skin
of sharks; around sea jellies,
corals, uprooted flowers
drifting in the waves.
Leaving no footprints where they touch
the faraway, the unreachable—
only imprinting their residue
in my mind. Part of my imagination,
my reflection, pretending to be carried
away to touch the horizon.
