Amongst the shadows of the soul pain ceases to exist
Atop a frigid mountain concealed in longing, we wait
Echoing under a fallen sky and broken stars
Discord has reign over us, this downward spiral in which we are trapped
On the crumbling earth of death do we wait
Not the departure of our beings, but rather the death of the desire for one another
Time has withered away at the memories and hope
Dissolving whatever feelings remained into internal regret
Crests of salt burn our skin, but help to heal the numbness of abandonment
Crisp lavender wind strokes us, embracing us in a barrier of uncertainty
Filthy rain clouds judgment in a ivory fog
Ice showing a mirror, of who we thought we were and yet failed to be
The dancing flame now put out, leaving a chalky black smoke
The same smoke that choked us until we couldn’t withstand the pain
