Rubik's Cube
Twist turn twist turn
All these colors
All these combinations
Twist turn twist turn
Is this right? Is this wrong?
Each square smirks back
They know I'm lost
But I keep trying
Twist turn twist turn
Am I going forward
Or am I going backward
Twist turn twist turn
And all of sudden
Everything fits together
But now what do I do?

What inspired me to write this poem was a personal challenge. I wanted to see if I could create meaning out of random nouns, and write something insightful to give the reader an "aha!" moment. The poem is supposed to highlight how we burden ourselves with these tasks, often times not knowing what we are doing or where to go, and suddenly everything works out. But the work also calls into question the importance of these tasks, and the question of "Where do we go?" once we finish.
