A secret behind locked lips
Whispering, eyes glittering
Hovering just above the heads of two
It is a bond of tangled strings tying us together

Leaves fall like tears from our faces
We wave our branches, outstretched in the wind
The wind sighs another, “Goodbye.”
Then, we are bare as the bark of the trees

Static falls from the sky and covers the world in snow
An electronic buzz warms us from the winter chill
As rapid thumbs tap against dull light
On distant screens in dark rooms

Flowers bloom from the dirt of our minds
Our thoughts plant seeds of realization
That the gray days and crying skies
Will soon come to an end

By summer, we color in each others worlds
With smiles on our glowing faces
We bat our eyelashes laced with lake water
And paint the sun into the sky

Sometimes we see a shine
In one another's eyes that tells a tale
Of our colliding kaleidoscope lives
In which we are most definitely infinite
