Procrastination
Our minds just want to wander
They explore a never ending maze of memes, Netflix, and YouTube videos
No matter how hard you try you can’t escape it
Your brain just doesn’t want to work
Don’t deny it it’s happened to you
You’ve waited until the last second to complete your Coffee House project, a book report, or a Powerpoint.
Is there a solution to this?
Keeping your phone in another room
Good Try
Sooner or later you will remember that you need to reply to a 100 day streak
Then it is just a downward spiral from there
But don’t worry even the greatest minds do it
There is only one way to get our brains focused on finishing an assignment
DEADLINES!!!
Deadlines occur
and they arrive faster than expected
Deadlines have to be met and they don’t care for your plans
Deadlines don’t care if you have a big biology test tomorrow
Deadlines don’t care if it is 6:30pm and you haven’t started thinking about other work
Deadlines don’t care if you can’t go get Chinese food with your friends
Deadlines don’t care if you have a pounding headache
Deadlings are worse than coming home to your mom after you messed something up
Deadlines force your brain to do the dreaded work
Deadlines are torture if you wait until the last second
But Deadlines also reward;
they force you to turn in the paper that you should get an A on
But if you don’t get an A,
just remember what got you here in the first place
That uncontrollable urge to not focus and not get any work done
Procrastination!

I could not find a topic to write about and my piece was due the next day, so I wrote why I had a blank paper the night before.
