Paint me with your colours
i love you
pink flows across my cheeks
red rushes through my veins
gold is woven into my hair
forever, i will love you
i love you
pink fades to white
red seeps into blue
gold melts into silver
forever, i will change for you
i love you
purple stains my cheek
blue stripes cut across my stomach
swirls of green branch out on my back
forever, i will be your canvas
i love you
indigo spots litter my skin
grey streaks entangle in my hair
black courses through my veins
forever, you will paint me
i love you
I am your painting
a sight on display for the world to gaze upon
people look, but no one sees
the marks that bind me
oh sweet caresses
how you fade
but remain etched on
my flat surface
i will never be blank
they told me to seek a life filled with colour
so i wait
patiently
while you paint me
you paint me with your colours
because you love me
strokes of fate
forever, I am your masterpiece
yes,
i love you

At first glance, this poem seems lighthearted with a simple, sweet message. However, the lines are much heavier in weight than one perceives.
