Even as things fall apart turning in the widening gyre of life

We strive to find meaning in the path of our Chi.
We are swept into the wild unknown of our future,
Falling with each death of an innocent.

With eyes wide open we are the watchmen of our destiny;
Each of us intertwined with the world around us in an infinite number of ways.
Yet alone just the same for each moment in time like Frankenstein
We strive to be the superhero, catcher in the rye, the savior.

Though we may find misery in grapes of wrath with vines entangling our lives,
We continue to dutifully search for the meaning of our existence.
Our connection with Gods unseen, but always present, fortifies us.
As the truth marches on we meet both triumph and disaster with open arms.

Each day a genesis of new beginnings and limitless potential.
Our journey intertwined with the universe; never all success or defeat.
We fall as Siddhartha falls in search of Nirvana.
We rise as the old man and the sea with sharks eagerly waiting for the fall.

Though at points in our lives we dive deep into pools of despair
Where tragedy seems as inevitable as the fate left to Lady Macbeth,
The human spirit is as boundless and resilient
As the bird who flies over the cuckoo’s nest.

For although we may feel at any given point in time
That our experience is unique to one mind and one body,
We are all connected through time and space through the Over-soul.
With each rise and each fall of our life we transcend ourselves becoming One

This poem is in honor of Ms Evans, my favorite english teacher who has taught me to love English and to have great respect for the spoken and written word. Our sophomore english class was called The Fall and this poem references all of the literary works that we tackled during the course...
