Time At The Ocean
As I look out at the beach on this clear,
Warm day,
I feel the sand beneath my feet.
There is grass not far from me
Where a small child plays.
The sand is warm and soft,
And there is plenty of wind to play with my hair.
I smell the food
Grilling in the nearby restaurant,
And hear the seagulls calling.
They are almost everywhere.
Sometimes I hear them at night too,
Just wanting to be fed more.
I focus back to the ocean,
And marvel at the cool and glassy surface of the water.
As I step nearer to it,
The spray of the ocean comes up and hits me in the face.
I taste the salt
And freshness of it.
I feel the waves pulsing against me,
Over and over.
I hear my dad calling for me to come in deeper
Where I wouldn't be able to touch.
As I draw nearer to him,
I feel the small tugs of the waves,
Trying to draw me into their giant world.
