Mutually Assured Destruction
Lick the cut on your lip
and taste the metallic sting.
It has the texture of glory and gory
and everything in between.
We are walking weapons
With flesh
And
People don't realize we have enough
iron and pain in our veins that it hurts.
Sharp edged words fall from your lips and
litter the ground like shards of a broken mirror.
Look at your shattered reflection and tell me--
Is this who you really are?
