Nothing But a Poet

I’m nothing but a poet,
Broken beyond repair,
Praying that my rambles,
Might make a stranger care.

I’m nothing but a poet,
Lost along the road,
Inking down my troubles,
And adding to my load.

I’m nothing but a poet,
Desperate to be loved,
Who keep their stories hidden,
And tries to rise above.

I’m nothing but a poet,
With wrists and hands that ache,
Hoping that these pen strokes,
Are not my last mistake.
