Where I'm from
  Bittersweet
I am from a concrete jungle--
a wooden porch accompanied by the concrete sidewalk surrounding the dead grass.
I am from a loving Mother and Father--
that wouldn’t let me cross the road, that took me to movies and play; they took me to the library weekly.

I am from my childhood room--
the Spider-Man poster and bed-sheets with the pile of Legos that I built; alongside my puppy in a laundry basket.
  I am from leaving--
My friends (and bullies) to go to Stone Bank. From reenacting movie scenes for fun with friends to being by myself all the time.
  loneliness.
I am from my brother being born--
  happiness.
I am from the loss of a loved one--
  sadness.
I am from witnessing my younger cousins and brother grow up--
  the rediscovery of joy.
I am from a bittersweet life.
