Soft Anger

It’s a soft anger that boils deep beneath the skin,
Silently gliding up in a gentle effervescence.
It fizzes and whines at the surface
as electricity jolts down the arms.
Speaking with the lips sealed.
The head sizzles and cracks in a utility pole explosion
that runs above the dreary grey asphalt on a dark day in may.
