whirte river
James stands waist deep in the warm water. Green hills against the blue sky. The sun is almost at a full shine. Tumbleweed blowing by a small heated breeze. The breeze carries the smell of wheat. His bag sits on the side of the river. A string that he added for detail blowing in the wind. Cattle in the field a small rushing from the river. The river is white as a cloud. The bottom is a silky sand. He feels like he's at home in his blankets.
Suddenly, his toes go numb.
A lurking shadow approaches in the water. As the shadow reaches his legs he feels a razor sharp pain in the side of his thigh. He screams but no one is around. The red spreads out from his leg. The white river fills with blood.
