Demons
The trees.
The dark night.
The sun,
Finally out of sight.
As she lay under the stars,
She sits and ponders
Where her demons are.
For the demons, they haunt her.
Every minute,
Every day.
Always saying they were” there to stay.”
As for once,
In quite a while,
She had peace and quiet.
She took control of her mind,
Which was a rare occurrence.
And now, as she reflects, she realizes,
There are so many things
She has left behind.
Her innocence,
Her health, her family and friends.
She left them, all because of her demons.
Now that she’s in control,
Maybe she can get her life back.
But, for now,
She must live with regret as she realizes,
She nevers should have let the demons in.
