A Dream So Real
A girl alone, on the edge of the rooftop
Looking down to see the road below
Cars, distant, insignificant in the world at large
Polluting killing us slowly
The world spins faster and the girl loses balance
A spiral
Down the rabbit hole
Into a pit
Of darkness stillness and loneliness
Mirroring the pit in her stomach
She gets up and finds herself floating
Am I dead? She asks
A ghostly white robe draped on her shoulders confirms her question
Looking up the world is nowhere to be seen
A hole in the universe
Did she fall in or out of it?
The roof replaces the air under her bare feet
She looks down and the cars race by
Polluting the memories she one kept close
Now gone without a trace
The spinning comes to a halt and she gets off the revolving floor
A wind carries the scent of fresh cooked pancakes
And wakes her from her slumber
It’s morning and the day begins
