The Beauty of a Desert Day
I watch as the wind sweeps the desert floor,
The morning sunlight resting on my face,
A gentle breeze against my skin,
The distant hum of an engine,
The smell of exhaust fumes,
Thoughts of todays new adventure,
Brings excitement and anticipation,
Dirt roads to untold beauty,
To mines of gold and silver,
To long forgotten ghost towns,
To the peaks of mountains,
Hours of memories to be made,
Sun up,
To sun down,
The beauty of a desert day.

I grew up in the California desert. To be more specific, Death Valley. I wrote this piece due to my love for those days. The ones where you wake up and immediately know you're about to embark on a wonderful adventure.
