Madeline
“You’re my girl, you’re my world”
I hear you telling me the same exact words
I hear my doubts
I hear me asking myself how many others have heard the exact same words
You have me question everything you’ve said
“Why does she want what’s gonna make her cry?”
All of those nights i’ve spent crying to my friends just to hear the exact same thing
To just leave him alone
And he’s not worth the tears
But why would I listen to my friends who give me bare, honest trees of truth
When I could spend my days in your beautiful garden of lies
“So why you wasting all your time?”
My best friend would ask after I complained about how much I hated the way you treated me
My best friend would ask why I’ve tied myself down to you of all people
I’m riding on a swing set at the playground we call our relationship
Because we both know were just playing a twisted game of
One day I want all of you
The next I want nothing to do with you
“Why does she want what’s gonna hurt her?”
I cant trust you, I don’t want to
I’ll just get screwed over in the end
You’d think that I’d get it the first time
I never have.
