The Rosebush
The Rosebush
Inspired by Cling, by Jonterri Gadson
In the midst of the murky brown of the trees and leaves.
soil and dead leaves who Struggling to survive
once thrived in the yet the color still remains
beauty of the garden, and our love still thrives
a part of Eden still like the strength of the delicate
remained in the red glow of the petal fighting the thorn.
rosebush. It’s petals,
soft, vibrant, warm. Clinging
to life through
strong roots, drowning
in darkness with
out life and shine.
The roses are held up and
fed through thin twigs providing
life to the dainty petals and
nourishing them with protection.
Our love is the rosebush.
Our love is the hope
evaporating off its thorns
toward the morbid veins
