Your homework is late
You missed your first date
You didn’t get a job
You’re called a slob
But finally one day
You make all A’s
You get a job and a raise
But wait
Don’t you forget
Your homework was late last week
You didn’t get the first job when you were sixteen
You’re still a little bit of a slob
You sit and ask yourself
Will things ever change?
Surely they will
You’re becoming successful
You’ve got it all
Everything is finally coming together
But wait
You can’t forget the inevitable
Society says learn from your mistakes
If your mistakes are forgivable by the public and your peers
You stay hopeful and try to conquer all
You have learned to rise from your little but significant mistakes
But wait
It’s our fate isn’t it?
No one will ever remember or acknowledge your success
All because of your mistakes
Just to be successful you still have to
Make sure your homework isn’t late
Make your first date
Get your job on the first try
Quit being a slob
And above all
Stay sane in the messed up society we live in

I wrote this piece for a class project but it quickly became more than that. I felt I could express myself freely and I could do it all annonymously.I was free spirited and able to show how I feel without the judgement of others.
