Forever Broken
You promised,
this would be
everlasting
that it could never be

We used to be peanut butter and jelly,
inseparable
attached
and better
when we were together.
What I thought was inseparable
turned out to be separable.
We got torn apart,
like ripping a piece of paper
and throwing it into the trash shoot
like it doesn't matter.
I thought for a while,
half of me was missing.
My peanut butter was gone
and nobody just likes jelly.
You were the missing puzzle piece of my life
that had made me complete.
I feel so clueless,
not sure of what to do next.
I don't know how to move forward
without you.
You promised
this would be
everlasting.
Don't make a promise you can't keep.
