Countdown

Cold fronts set in for the winter,
Snowflakes fall gently upon my face.
Warmness and togetherness within the crowd,
Joy and happiness all around.
There is a countdown to commemorate old memories,
The traditional monumental ball comes to a slow descend.
At the stroke of midnight there is confetti in the air,
Fireworks are heard in the distance.
Love is prevalent,
The crowd is full of joyful tears.
Optimistic resolutions are abound.
So cheers and toast to a Happy New Year.
