Hours Later
She tried for hours to get his stench off her skin
The smell of his cologne and salty sweat
Seeped into her pores like a sponge
Every time she breathed, she could her the sound of his breath
She could still feel the ends of his fingers around her neck
Every time she closed her eyes, she could see his face
Every time she blinked, she got a vision of him
Every time she swallowed, she tasted tears
Tears, and him
She felt him, tasted him, smelled him
She was afraid to sleep, to talk, to breathe, to make the mistake of thinking
He was stapled to her, onto her very being
She wanted nothing more than to burn her skin, to get him off
She couldn't and she knew it
She wanted him dead, but to kill him was to kill herself
