A different color
Judged by yet another
A new culture
Preyed on by a vulture
She wears a hijab
And you rip it away like a scab
Braids and feathers in his hair
But you just strip him bare
Assimilate to the majority
Because who cares about minorities
Mocked for a darker skin tone
But when it comes to bone
Were all the same
But like a flame
You suffocate them with shame
And laugh until your bones break
Stretch your tongue until it aches
All you do is take
Slowly spreading poison like a snake
Indoctrinate the ones who are unalike
Drive your culture into their backs like a spike
Blame the ones with braids in their hair
Blame the ones with divergent prayer
For they are lower right?
Just assimilate to the white
And everything will be alright
Right?

The author's comments:

I was inspired to write this because of my friend, who inspires me everyday and empowers others with equality and words. I want people to see how, when it comes to bone, we are all the same and we shouldn't discriminate who is different.
