Irritated
Irritated.
Why is our society so absorbed in receiving pity from others? It’s as if we feel the need to complain about our life so others will talk to us. This sympathy makes us feel wanted.
We desire sympathy, the few minutes of love, so we can feel important.
There are two things every human wants, love and acceptance.
How is it fair that those who are ACTUALLY suffering have to be strong and show no emotional destruction, but those who aren’t sick can have all of the sympathy and love in the world?
That’s how we know who is actually suffering.
The ones who don’t tell.
To the ones who keep their emotions to themselves, not letting anyone see the fire within.
Those who know darkness too well.
The faces slammed against the wall wondering what they did wrong.
The ten shaky fingers reaching for hope.
Those who explain, but are never understood.
Understood. That’s all that is asked.
Not pity or sympathy.
Not attention.
Just understood.
