Rent-A-Baby
She grabbed her keys
Ready to leave
She sat in though
Are you sure?
She gave it one more second
And she was off.
She was ready
To rent a baby.
Checking the rear
Her blue eyes steal her away
She wonders,
Say?
Will it look like me?
She will find out
Once she finally rents her baby.
The baby Store
Is where she is engulfed
in a whining roar.
Where are the good ones?
Ones with a warranty?
How much will a cute one cost me?
Lead past the discount aisle
Where the older ones are left
To wave and smile.
She is shown a selection of premium options.
This one is fresh out
You can get it for a decent amount.
It’s cute.
It yawns.
Will it puke?
They usually do.
Is this the best you got?
This is what we have in stock.
A sigh
A moment of hesitation
She signs the paper
Hopefully she won’t regret it later.
She leaves
To see
What it’s like to rent a baby.
